Fishing in Montana's Central Continental Divide
Central Montana

Fly fishing central Montana

The 'Continental Divide' rivers of Central Montana flow either east to the Pacific or west to the Atlantic from opposite sides of the Rockies. The variety of rivers is astonishing.

You can float the magnificent broad reaches of the Missouri. Enjoy the forested secrecy of the famous Blackfoot, inspiration for Norman’s McClean’s acclaimed novel A River Runs Through It

And for adventurers, follow the footsteps of Lewis and Clark's famous expedition and explore the mysteries of the Smith river Gorge.

The rivers in Central Montana are a challenge for first time visiting anglers. They are very long and you have to know the areas that are fishable for trout. However, all these wonderful rivers have countless miles of fish-filled waters and its our job to put you in the right places.

The indigenous Rainbow and Cutthroats of this region are magnificent fighters and bear no comparison to the stocked rainbows found in European rivers. Once you’ve hooked into a western ‘Bow’ and felt the power, all else pales into insignificance
